The Foundation for Vision Research invites you to an educational seminar presented by Amro Omari, MD, who joined Retina Specialists of Michigan in the fall of 2025. This course is designed to equip optometrists and ophthalmologists with a better recognition of how endophthalmitis presents, the risk factors for the disease in various clinical and surgical scenarios, along with optimal medical and surgical management. Join us in person at Watermark Country Club for an evening of appetizers, drinks, and networking, or attend virtually via Zoom webinar. We look forward to seeing you there.

Speaker

Amro Omari, MD  |  Retina Specialists of Michigan

Dr. Amro Omari is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon at Retina Specialists of Michigan. After moving from the United Kingdom, he completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State University with distinction before earning his medical doctorate at the University of Michigan. During medical school, he conducted research at the Kellogg Eye Center, where he received the Robert Goldsmith Award for outstanding scientific achievement in ophthalmology.

Dr. Omari completed his residency at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, working alongside world-renowned physicians from Associated Retinal Consultants. His dedication to teaching and research earned him the Resident Teaching Award for exemplary mentorship of medical students and residents. He then completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the prestigious Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the top eye hospitals in the country, where he was honored with the Fellowship Excellence Award for clinical excellence and commitment to resident education.

Dr. Omari has extensive experience managing a broad spectrum of ocular conditions, including complex retinal surgeries, intraocular lens exchanges, and subretinal injections for gene therapy — a technique mastered by only a select few retina specialists. He is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and building strong ties to the community.
