Gene Lanier

Gene’s path to clinical research started at Grand Rapids Ophthalmology where he worked as an Ophthalmic Technician for over 5 years at multiple clinic sites in West Michigan. He joined the clinical research team at FVR in 2022. Gene maintains his certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) through the International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO) and is also a Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM) through the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Gene’s interest and passion in healthcare began while he was a student at Grand Valley State University where he studied Clinical Exercise Science as well as Psychology. He has always had a passion for wellness and carries this in his role as a research coordinator. He enjoys the mental stimulation that research brings as well as the unique qualities each patient presents.
