As a research coordinator, Jae works closely with each patient throughout the clinical trial – coordinating study visits, answering questions and guiding patients through the entire process. She loves being able to work with the same patients each month and to build a close bond with each one of them. As Jae puts it, ‘Our patients are some of the most thoughtful, patient and kind people which makes work more enjoyable’. She finds research stimulating and enjoys seeing how a new investigative product works for actual patients and improves their outcome in the future.
Jae is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Professions and a minor in Psychology. She graduated in 2014 and immediately began her career at Retina Specialists of Michigan as an ophthalmic technician. She transitioned over to the research team in 2016 and became a certified ophthalmic assistant (COA) in March of 2017. Jae’s addition to the FVR team helps us provide greater comprehensive care to each patient and increases our ability to participate in more trials.
