Born and raised in Michigan, Dr. Boss completed medical school training at Michigan State University, his ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute and a 2 year vitreoretinal fellowship at Cleveland Clinic/Cole Eye Institute.
Dr. Boss is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology , American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Boss is passionate about research and teaching; he has published many peer-reviewed articles, a sub-investigator in clinical trials, authored numerous book chapters, and he has presented at 22 national and international conferences. His specific interests include macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, macular surgery, complex retinal detachment repair, surgical pediatric retina, secondary intraocular lens fixation, and uveitis/ocular inflammatory disorders.
