Sam joined the Foundation for Vision Research team as a Research Coordinator in 2022. Sam’s interest in research can be traced back to his undergraduate career at Cornerstone University where he studied biology and obtained a minor in chemistry. Here he conducted research on the hybridization of citrus fruits, and this sparked his initial interest in research. After graduating, he continued his education at Iowa State University where he studied biomedical science. During his time at graduate school, he was trained in the research process.
Sam enjoys working with the FVR study patients and cherishes seeing how our research positively impacts their lives. He feels humbled to play a role in discoveries that will affect the way we treat retinal diseases. He is thrilled to be a part of the FVR team and is excited to launch his career in healthcare.
"We deal with ground-breaking innovations, and it is a privilege to be part of this team."
